Transportation from Zagreb airport

Hi:

Will be leaving to Croatia next Thursday. Initially thought to just take a taxi to the hotel but read some review that the drivers tend to inflate price a lot. The flight arrive at 7pm and I am not sure I want to get into a long negotiation after a long flight. Found this site on the web to book a shuttle, airports taxi transfers(airporsttaxitransfers.com). Anyone used it before or any suggestion on getting into city center is welcome. Appreciate your information.

You may want to contact your hotel. Some hotels have arranged deals with certain taxi companies to combat this issue. Our hotel in Zagreb arranged a taxi for us at a set price.

I flew out of Zagreb last yeat, but not into it. I used the airport bus that runs to the Zagreb bus station at a cost of 35 kuna, or about $5. Zagreb has a good tram system, but I imagine you'd want to take a taxi from the bus station to your hotel if it's not within walking distance. At least the potential fare inflation would be quite a bit lower starting from the bus station.

You can see the airport bus schedule at www.buscroatia.com/zagreb-airport/ (Sorry, haven't figured out how to do links from my tablet.) Another page on the buscroatia web site says after 8 PM, buses leave after planes arrive, which I admit is kind of vague.

I rented an apartment from InZagreb while I was there. They also offer tours. They gave us a ride from the airport and the driver/owner was very nice. You might contact them. http://www.inzagreb.com

After very long flights and needing transport from the airport to a centrally located hotel in Zagreb was our challenge as well. The solution included the convenient and reasonably priced bus service to the central bus station, next to the train station. I approached a taxi and inquired about the price to our hotel about 2km away...price was way too high. I have an aversion to paying exorbitant rates for anything if there is a reasonable alternative. So hopped the tram, which was right there, for the fast, cheap trip to the central part of the city and literally to the hotel. Enjoy Zagreb, we did.
