Transportation from Trogir to Split

Hi - first thanks to everyone who has actively participated on this forum - reading through these blogs has been a tremendous help in planning our trip.

Question: Based on what I've read on Split, I think I'd prefer to stay in Trogir - my thought is on our first day in that area, we'd drop our rental car off in Split (before heading to Brac for the day), but we'll need to catch a 7:40 ferry to Korcula the next day and I'm not sure what transportation options are available early in the morning from Trogir to Split. Does anyone have any experience with this? Alternatively, we could keep the rental car an extra day to drive ourselves to Split, but it doesn't look like rental car companies open until 8:00 and we'd have to return the car before then in order to make our ferry.

Related question - it looks like the Sixt car rental office is a few km from the ferry port - is transportation readily available to get from Sixt to the port? We'll have a 4 year old in tow, so hoping to keep things easy.

Thanks in advance!

Since it is just one night and you are going to be in Brac for the day anyway, I'd just stay in Split--it does have some really pleasant neighborhoods not far from the ferry port.
OR, you might check the Krilo catamaran schedule--perhaps you could spend the night on Brac and head on to Korcula the next day? They have two routes that stop at Brac (Bol and Milna) and Korcula.
If you end up sticking with Trogir, I would ask your accommodation for a driver rec for the morning--too early to be fooling with a bus! Same for the Sixt office to the port--I have used occasional taxis in Croatia and no complaints.

Thank you - I think you're probably right. I just had my heart set on staying in Trogir. Next time!

There is a local bus (Promet company) nr. 37 that connects Trogir to Split. There are buses leaving early from Trogir main bus station to Split. Bus ride lasts for 55 minutes. Here is a timetable of those buses http://www.promet-split.hr/en/bus-line-37
Last bus station is in Split on this address https://www.google.com/maps/place/BUS+stanica+za+Trogir,+aerodrom+Split,+Omi%C5%A1,+Zagoru/@43.5143034,16.443777,16.75z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x13355e086799faef:0x61e23ead567e937b!8m2!3d43.515504!4d16.4429364
This place is within walking distance from port, it's gonna take you 20 minutes to walk to port.

I just remembered, there are also buses that interconnect coastal towns in Croatia. You can take one of these from Split to Trogir. This bus ride lasts only for 40 minutes. That would be easier for 4 year old child as well. Here comes the best part - these buses stop on the main bus terminal in Split. This is actually in the port of Split. It's very easy to walk from this bus station to Brac ferries. Here is a link of the bus station in Split where you can check the timetable of those buses https://www.ak-split.hr/en/arrivals-to-split/
You can buy the bus tickets either on the bus or in the bus terminal building in Trogir. Local currency has to be used for purchase of the tickets.
