Just taking a stab at what best means, but you can take a bus that will get you there in about 4 hours.

I would take the bus. Inexpensive, comfortable, and great views.

Be sure to book the right side of the bus when traveling from Split to Dubrovnik. Best views of the Adriatic

If you have time, you can also take a ferry...it is an all-day trip but an amazing way to spend time on the Adriatic...
