We're planning to be in Korcula for 3 nights from Wed. Oct. 8 leaving for Dubrovnik on Sat. Oct.11. We'll be driving from Kotor to Dubrovnik and I have found a bus from Dubrovnik to Korcula leaving at 3pm. Having a problem finding a return on Saturday as it seems the only bus I can find leaves at 6:45am.
Does anyone have any experience in travelling between these locations? Is there a better way to travel?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Carol, try contacting Korkyrainfo at http://korkyra.info/. We used them last June to take us from Dubrovnik to Korcula. I'm not sure if they still run a daily shuttle in October but you can ask. Otherwise, they do a private van for abou 130Euro which is not too bad if you have several people to defray the cost. They were the cheapest van service we found and were very reliable. They also take you all the way from Korcula town to Dubrovnik vs. some companies that pick you up in Orebic after you take the 15 minute ferry ride across.
Also, if you do a private van ask them to stop by Ston (45 minutess outside Korcula) on the way. Its a nice stop and an interesting wall to walk.
Thanks, Jon. As there are only two of us a private van is more than we want to spend. We've pretty much have our itinerary mapped out so changing dates is really not feasible. It looks like we'll be getting up early that day!
Hi Carol, I probably should have been more clear. The private van with Korkyrainfo which we could set our own schedule with was 130Euro but they did have a dailly scheduled van that was 30euro a person that had departure time I think of 9am from Korcula. The only thing I'm not sure is whether the van runs daily in October. You can check with them.
