May I know the reliable Train/Bus connection between Zagreb and Budapest ?
Should I book in advance the train or can just buy directly on day of travel?
I have heard that buses are infrequent and some companies like Orange Bus do cancel often, etc!

I was about to recommend Go Opti (see my reply to your other post). I used them between Budapest and Zagreb airport last year, but after doing a quick search on their website it seems like this route is not offered anymore. I wouldn't blame them because it's a long route and I was the only one in the van. You may want to try connecting through other towns (play with the options on the website) and you may be able to find a way between the two. Otherwise, check out Rome2Rio and see what they suggest.
I already answered your question under Hungary. It is better not to spread your question around but to keep it in one place. For example: either under Hungary or Croatia or under transportation. That way you get your answers all in one place.
