Time allocation advice-Dubrovnik vs. Korcula

I am struggling to decide which ferry to Korcula we should take. One is at 7:00 AM and the other is at 4:00 PM.

Here is our itinerary:
Day 1: Fly into Dubrovnik (flight arrives at 1:00 PM)...Fort Lovrijenac and city walls
Day 2: Dubrovnik (Old Town, Lokrum Island, and Hotel More and Cave bar for dinner/drinks)
Day 3: Ferry at 7:00 AM or ferry at 4:00 PM?

We will be flying in from the states, so I worry about lingering jet lag if we leave too early on Day 3. On the other hand, do I want to spend another whole day in Dubrovnik fighting crowds, or would I rather spend the day leisurely in Korcula? We will be in Korcula for 3 nights.

What would you do?

I would take the 4:00 pm ferry for the reason you mentioned, and to ensure you don't feel overly rushed in Dubrovnik. Plus, you won't have to get up super early on your third day to make the 7:00 am departure (which means getting up really early). Three nights in Korcula is plenty so you won't be giving up much by staying a bit longer in Dubrovnik.

Since I am a HUGE fan of Korcula, I would recommend leaving Dubrovnik first thing in the am! Two nights was adequate for Dubrovnik. We only had 2 nights in Korcula and wished we had 3 nights. Korcula is a wonderful place to relax. Our favorite island! Highly recommend Nonno for dinner. Reservations necessary. That's what I would do!!

One and a bit days in Dubrovnik is enough, so I would take the earlier sailing. Plus, if there are any technical issues with the earlier boat, having a later one to fall back on maybe beneficial.

You can play it by ear and decide on the second day. You might skip Lokrum if there are other things in Dubrovnik you wish to see. The views of old town are the best part of the trip over there.
Or you could split the difference and leave on the 3pm bus--the views from the bus are really lovely.
