I'm considering adding Mostar to my 12-day Croatia/Slovenia itinerary because everyone seems to love it. It's a big decision because it will be a bit out of the way to add it and I'm not sure if it's right for us.
Please help me decide by telling me why you love Mostar!
Because it is so much fun! I expected interesting and it was. I expected pretty, river and mountains, and it was beautiful. But fun? nope that was unexpected. We stayed two nights and wished we had stayed three. It was great to be able to tour mosques, Turkish houses, watch beautifully clad women in pastel abbas having lunch or coffee with their Christain friends, all the church bells and call to prayers from the towers. Such a great time, for sure worth the car ride. We could see 8 minarets, the river and the mountains, old bridge from our Airbnb balcony. And I almost forgot to say the DJ by the river at night playing vinal, dancing with the youth hostel kids to the Monkeys and Saturday Night Fever. I would do it all again, would it be that fun again, most likely not but still.... go!! J
If everyone seems to love it, go and see for yourself. Everyone seems to be a good recommendation. I liked it. It has gelato for equivalent €1. That is my view.
