Suggest Day Trips and companies from Dubrovnik

Hi all,
We will be in Dubrovnik for 3 and a half days.
We were thinking of going on a day trip to Montenegro. Any thoughts on this or alternatives are welcome.
Also does anyone have any experience with any of the tour companies ?
Thanks !
Mitchell

I took a day tour to Montenegro with Atlas Tours that I really enjoyed. It circled the bay and included stops in Kotor, Cetinje and Budva, plus a lunch stop at a nice little restaurant in the hills above Kotor (inexpensvie and delicious). There are multiple pick-up points in and near Dubrovnik, but plan on about 7am - 7pm from Pile Gate (the Atlas office is nearby). I don't recall the exact cost, but I thought it was reasonable for an all-day tour.

Edit: Not all tours run every day, so you may have to choose your tour company based on those offering a given tour the day you want to go. That would apply to destinations such as Mostar too.

Hi Mitchell!
Tour to Montenegro is definitely a must do while in Dubrovnik. With the most tour companies you have two options
1. Tour of Bay of Kotor
2.Tour which includes both Kotor and Budva
If you don't like spending too much time on the road you can just go with the first option because Kotor is truly a highlight of Montenegro tour. However, if you don't mind driving a bit more and don't get tired easily, there is plenty to see in Budva too.

If you decide to skip Budva and go for a more relaxed tour, you can stop in Cavtat on the way back which is a nice place for a walk and a little sightseeing.

I believe Frank is talking about group tours which don't run every day, however if you book a private tour you can go any day you like. I think prices for group tours go around 50 EUR per person while private tours are more expensive (300-500 EUR).

Another thumbs up for Atlas Tours. On our first trip to Dubrovnik, we did not have a car and used Atlas for the day trip in to Kotor.

We are not tour bus people, but this was a lovely visit around the bay, Budva, and in to Kotor.

We have used Get Your Guide, With Locals, and Visitacity for local tours when we travel and had great experiences with all of them. If they have a tour that meets your wishes.
