Hi all, We are planning a trip to Croatia in mid May 2025, and will be 65 and 66 years old. We are both interested in outdoor activities, vineyards, and visiting the old towns.
We only have 10 days in Croatia and we’re thinking about staying 4 to 5 nights in Hvar. I’m being told Korcula is nice & less expensive (We’re on a budget) I’m looking for recommendations on possibly staying in Korcula and taking the ferry to Hvar, possibly staying at both places for 3 nights , or should we just stay in Hvar & ferry to Korcula?
If you can devote three to each, that is what I would do. May is not as expensive and crowded as July, so I would not worry there.
I consider them too far apart for day tripping, but you could stop over in Hvar after staying on Korcula (or vice versa).
See the catamaran schedules on the Jadrolinija and Krilo websites.
Thanks for the info:)
Either stay 3 nights in each place, or just stay in one and forget the other. Hvar can be done as a day trip from Split, buy usually the ferry schedules do not work out to do it from Korcula, just a bit far and infrequent boats.
During our 10-night trip to the Dalmatian Coast, we stayed 2 nights in Korcula Town ( a very small town) and 3 nights on Hvar and that seemed to work out fine. Even had time to take the 15-minute ferry from Korcula to Orebic and hike to the Mikulic Winery for wine-tasting after swimming at Trstenica Beach.
The Krilo Catamaran from Hvar Town to Korcula Town takes 75-90 minutes.
Have a great trip!
