Stari Grad (Hvar Island) to Dubrovnik

Has anyone tried to visit Drubrovnik for just a day - high speed ferry in the morning, return in the evening - from Hvar Island and back? Is that even possible or feasible?
Thanks!

Assuming that you are travelling between June and August, the daily Krilo catamaran gives you c 4 hours in Dubrovnik. It is over 3 hours each way in the catamaran and the seating on here is similar to an aircraft, so you can't walk around outside. Your choice as to whether over 6 hours travel is worth 4 hours max there. You will need to book well in advance, if travelling in peak season.

Dubrovnik can be exceedingly busy if cruise ships are in port, so Google this to check and try to avoid a day with too many ships in port.

Not feasible. You will barely see anything in Dubrovnik. The catamaran arrives at 12:00PM and heads back for the return voyage at 4:00PM. From the port, there are busses that will take you to the Old Town, but will take 15 - 20 minutes or so each way. And then with needing to arrive back to the port before 4:00PM to make that connection, you're looking at 3 hours or less in Dubrovnik. You may have time to grab lunch and do a quick circuit around the Old Town before you have to leave.

Thank you! You both confirmed what I suspected...time to adjust plans! :-)
