Split or Trogir from Sibenik

On a cruise and the ship will port in Sibenik for the day.
There are options to visit Split or Trogir (or just stay in Sibenik).

What do you recommend?
What is the best way to get to Split or Trogir? Uber or should we do the ship excursions that go to those towns?

Note: We are very active (no walking concerns) and love food and seeing old buildings and churches.

I have not been to Sibenik yet, however we will be there on a cruise stop next month. Our plans are to do it on our own. We have reservations at a winery for a wine/ food tasting, plan on taking a taxi to the winery. Then there are 3 fortresses which we plan on visiting, and the cathedral.

Just stay in Šibenik for the day. Trogir is a very small town and although interesting, not worth the travel time and expense. Split is interesting as it is an old palace complex but can be missed.
Each coastal town in Croatia has similarities and differences but are worth a day’s visit.

Agree with Barbara. Trogir is pleasant but nothing specific that is a must-see, so
for the ambiance you can just stay in Sibenik. Split is more interesting but at its
essence somewhat the same (the palace being more known but it's a ruins and
a public place so not that exciting to see, and an old town other than that).

However, Krka National Park is not very far away and that might be worth a trip.
