Split Excursions - Warning!

We are having a lovely visit to Split and can't say enough positive things about our experience here. Wonderful restaurants - we have tried many of Rick's recommendations - and a lovely city. However....Beware of the kiosks offering boat excursions on the water front.! The tour you get WILL NOT be the tour you booked. We used 2 different bookers for 2 tours - 1 a full day tour to the Blue Cave, Vis, and Hvar and another a half day tour to the Blue Lagoon and Solta. While we did visit those places, our tours bore little resemblance to what we were sold. We have determined the only way to know what your trip will include is to speak to the Captain of your boat BEFORE you pay - and just before you are scheduled to depart. (Both our tours switched out the boat we were supposed to be on, took much longer to get to the destinations and resulted in less time at the destinations, or left them out altogether.) What's the expression? "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me..." Please follow my advice and don't be fooled!

Hi Paul. We used 2 different companies. Both misled us. That's why I'd suggest speaking directly to the boat captain to confirm the itinerary before you leave.

What are the names of the 2 different companies you booked with?

We used moody summer and michaelangelo travel but as I noted they all seem to be the same. They seem to book people on trips and then someone (some kind of middle man or consolidator) arranges a boat/boats for that trip/destination depending on the number of people signed up for that day. Ask the boat captain about the itinerary for the day - before you pay anyone.
