Split day trips

We will be in Croatia the end of May, spending 3 nights on the island of Solta for a wedding and two night in Old Town Split. Is it worth going to Plitvice for the day and fighting the crowds or would a trip to Trogir and Krka National Park be better?

Trogir is a lovely small town with a big history and it is a short ride from Split. Plitvice is a long ride and I believe crowded almost year round. We didn't make it to Krka this past trip. I have the name of a wonderful guide for Split. We did a great walking tour of the Diocletian Palace with him. He does other tours too. He was born and raised in Split so he knows its history and is very passionate about his city. Let me know if you want his contact info.

Go to Krka and Trogir and you don't need a guide. In Split the Tourism Office will give details of free guided tours if you need one.

I agree with skipping Plitvice this time around. It is magnificent, but not on a day-trip from Split in May.

I would love the name of a tour company/person in Split. We will be in port in April for from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and would like to see Krka and all that Split has to offer.
