Split, Croatia Blue Cave Tour Help

Hi All,

We are coming into Split for a day between 8am-4pm and would like to jump on a half day boat tour to the Blue Cave. Can anyone provide a recommendation for a local guide with a boat? My group is four adults.

Your time and consideration are appreciated.

Thank you!

I feel like there are a lot of these available by the harbor when you get there, but I did a group tour through this website, simply because I asked our apartment manager for a recommendation and this is what he sent. My friend backed out but I had a great day. It takes a while to get to the Blue Cave, though, 1/2 day might not be adequate. https://www.hvarboating.com/
Or you might find a tour without the final stop I had on a different island.

I apologize if this is a dumb question, and I do not want to hijack this thread, but need to ask a question since I will be in the region this year and read about a blue cave near Kotor, is there more than one blue cave between Split and Kotor?

Apparently. And according to Google Maps, the one is Croatia is actually named the Blue Grotto. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi!

If you had more time I would suggest booking a tour with the travel agency. There are many great agencies in the town center, but the problem is that the tours start around 7 am and you´re back in Split around 6 pm. They usually consist of visiting the local places as well, such as Stiniva, Komiža, Budikovac Bay, etc.

If your budget is not strictly limited, the four of you could rent a speedboat and go with a skipper. It takes around an hour and a half to get to the cave, but later on, you can go where you wish.

Whichever option you choose, note that the Blue Cave is only open in the morning and you can not swim in there. You spend only about 20 minutes inside, so don´t establish your whole trip on it.
