Spend day in Hvar?

We are coming to Croatia for 9 days in late May / early June. We plan to stay 2 nights in Split and then take the Catamaran to Korcula for 2 nights before continuing on to Dubrovnik. When I started researching options for the boats to the islands, Krilo was the only option and it is a 7:40 am boat from Split arriving in Korcula at 10 am. Then leaving Korcula 2 days later at 10:10 and arriving in Dubrovnik at noon. Jadrolina didn't have any posted options. But now they have a ferry that leaves Split at 4:30 pm, stops in Hvar at 5:45 and gets to Korcula at 7:10 pm.
So we could have the option to take the morning Krilo 7:40 am Ferry from Split to Hvar, explore Hvar for a few hours and then take the 5:45 pm Jadrolina Ferry to Korcula for 2 nights (and one full day). Is Hvar worth exploring for the day? Or should we just get to Korcula and have 2 full days there? How have people spent their time on Korcula?

Thanks for your advice!

Hvar is stunning. Be sure to go up to the castle on top of the island. We did a Rick Steve's tour a couple years ago and we had that much time in Hvar and Korcula. Perfect amount of time.

Have you found accommodation in Korcula? Many places have a 3 night minimum booking.

Although Hvar town is interesting, with so little time, I would head straight to Korcula, which is stunning. Arriving at night trying to find your accommodation isn't ideal.

Part of the enjoyment of the islands is having the time for a coffee or beer and people watching/chilling. You could hire a scooter to explore for a day.

We do have reservations for 2 nights on Korcula. I am torn. Two different suggestions! I wonder if our room will even be ready if we arrive at 10 am? Scooters does sound fun!

I spent two nights each in Hvar and Korcula. I'm with April. I definitely think Hvar is worth the time, and if I were you I'd take the early ferry to Hvar and then the later ferry to Korcula.

I think it just depends on how you want to spend your time. I'd rather have that extra time to get out and explore the island, but maybe you prefer peeking around a town.

I'm doing a very similar trip at the end of June/early July.... Zagreb to Plitvice to Split, then Ferry/Catamaran in the morning to Hvar for the day and on to Korcula for 2 nights and finishing in Dubrovnik. Can't wait!
