Southern or Northern Croatian Coast?

Hi there. My husband and I are traveling to Croatia, Slovenia, and Austria in mid June. We are flying into Dubrovnik and plan on spending three nights there. I am having trouble deciding if we should stay south and visit either Korcula and/or Hvar for a few extra nights or if we should skip it and explore Istria. We will rent a car as soon as we leave southern Croatia so we will have transportation where ever we decide to go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Istrian towns remind me of Italy. Having seen both I would prefer Korcula and Hvar. Scenery around is first class and sea is warmer which makes a difference in June. And also it is a shorter drive from Dubrovnik. And if you have time drive to Plitvice National Park. Beautiful crystal clear lakes, cascading waterfalls and greenery. In sixties and seventies Germans made several movies there about American Indians and good and bad white guys inspired by Karl May books about Vinnetou and Old Shatterhand. For those who read this and go to Dresden, visit Karl May museum there.
