The original SeaCloud sailing ship (which was the wedding gift from E. F. Hutton to Merriweather Post) had an intinery we did several years ago (Venice to Venice) with another stop or two in Italy and also stops across the sea to Croatia, etc. I would have to dig thru old travel files to find the stops, but it would not really matter.....just check their web site to see what is offered in current times. It was a really unique experience being on the significant sailing ship. It operates mostly by motor (since it might take "forever" if the winds are not just right (and likely they would not be), but there is a time the sails are put up in their full glory (for photo ops by the passengers (can go out on Zodiacs while the ship remains stationary for photos.

One night during the journey, the really high-end suites were opened (with, of course, the guests' permission) for cocktails an nibbles, so we got to see how the original owners sailed, along with their higher-end staff (like the school teacher, etc.) Another evening, I humorously invited the delightful people who were in those suites to see our cabin (they actually attended and found nice things to say) It was all in very good humor :) That's me :)

We departed Venice during the day and then returned in the very early morning, so it was wonderful to have the two different light opportunities for photos.

I just looked at SeaCloud's web site and have included a link below. The Venice to Venice one shown is similar to the route we took years ago, but not the exact route we took. I "think" not certain ours was fewer days...maybe 5 nights on the ship itself. We added a couple of days in Venice on our own before departure.

It is important to ask the ratio of nationalities on any particular cruise. Ours was mostly Germans (very nice people we enjoyed), and there were (I think it was) a total of 12 English as a primary language (American and Canadian). If we did not get to the dining room very, very early to state out our space a the table 8 or 10 (where most of the English speaking seemed to sit), it was a bit hard to be totally engaged in the conversation with the German speakers. They were delightful and would engage us in some English, but of course, then the group mostly spoke their natural language. I have some German DNA, and my family was raised to always be punctual. I had fun telling the fellow (German) passengers that when the direction was to be at such and such a place at 10am, the Germans always showed up 20 minutes early...and I told them that's how I was raised....they loved it :)

National Geographic/Lindblad also uses the SeaCloud for certain itineraries, so you might consider booking thru them (IF they have an journey that interests you in that area). One of the crew members told me that National Geographic journeys were more active (which we would have enjoyed). When not out on shore excursions, a lot of the passengers just enjoyed sunning themselves.

Our Croatian-company that used the MV Monet is long out of business. Try to find a small enough ship that it will tie up right beside an old town that you can walk, almost empty, after dinner aboard.

I now see Unforgettable Croatia has a 14 night Land & Sea package. Anyone familiar with them?
Ship holds 38 guests.

Katerina Line was the first small ship cruise company in Croatia. They’ve been in business for over 20 years. We were booked for one of their cruises but it got cancelled - Covid. We haven’t been able to book another for so many reasons.
