Slovenia and Croatia Solo traveling woman advice please

Hello,
I plan to leave Sept. 16 and return to Seattle Oct 16.2017. Trip goes like this. Land LJ, SL, 2 days, bled 2 P/U car), Lake Bohinj 1, then up early, drive back to Bled through to Vrsic Pass onward to Trisete 1 night to hear Italian voices. Next day 1/2 day Trieste then to Pirin for 3 nights-[one day (Sun) while there go to Lipica for performance.] Now challenge get rid of car while still in Slovenia (to save $).Then pick up in (3 nights) Rovinj if possible (anyone?). Drive to Istria area unless no car than bus to Pula for car than back to Rovinj. Istria plan to Opatjia (2 nights) then drive to Plitivice, staying night near park will have car, do park Sunday early. Drive from there to Split where I've heard not necessary to have car so how to drop off? Split do next day (Monday) and then take 4.30pm ferry to VIS, (3 nights) want peace and quiet. Then ferry to Dubrovnik get there Friday late afternoon. Having a hard time finding place in Dubrovnik. (is Old Town too loud, apartment, possible balcony, Seaview-even more possible? or not. Rent car at night Sat (Oct 7 ) to make day trip to Montenegro Bay of Kotor back to Dub. Next day (Tues) fly from Dub to Zagreb, 1 night and 1 day. Take train to LJ. Should I stay at airport hotel as flight leaves next day (Wed 11th @ 3.15pm). One more small challenge, lands in de Gualle/Paris 5.15pm for 17 hour layover, should spend night at airport or go into city, spend night and get back to CDG airport at 10.10am. for trip home. Any advice, suggestions, recommendations would be appreciated. Any weather, packing advice. Thank you!

Have you booked the flights already? Why not fly from Dubrovnik to Paris that would save you all the hassle of flying from Dubrovnik to Zagreb then train to Ljubljana than flying from there to Paris? There are even direct flights from Dubrovnik to Paris some days.

On one trip to Dubrovnik, I stayed right outside the Pile Gate (no steps) which I found convenient. On another trip, where I had a car, I stayed in nearby Lapad and took the bus to Dubrovnik, because parking was easier there. But without a car, I'd prefer to be near the Old Town, even if not directly inside of it. (Some people stay in Cavtat.)

One further thought: if I could re-book this from scratch, I'd probably fly into Zagreb (if you want to spend time there), rent the car there, drive to Slovenia, back down through Istria and all the way down to Dubrovnik, return the car there, and fly from Dubrovnik to Paris. Or start in Dubrovnik, end in Zagreb. But because you have given specific dates, it seems like your flights are already booked?
