Sleeping in Dubrovnik

We will be in Dubrovnik from 20 April 2024 to May 5, 2024. At this time we have reservations at Apartment Petra VI in old town.

We would prefer something less expensive, although the reviews in general were very good.
Any suggestions? We would like to stay in the old town, if possible. But are flexible.
Thanks again for your insight.
Regards
Marie

I can't find apartment petra VI to compare prices but I would guess most apartments in old town would be $80 minimum per night. I stayed three nights in Rooms Vicelic inside the old walls for about that. Prices are given by email. It was a nice place on a quiet street above the bars and restaurants. If you contact him, you may get a cheaper price due to your longer stay.

Thank you for your suggestion.
I will check it out.
I did cancel Petra IV due to service charge and a cleaning fee. Also, concerned not on most sites for reviews.

We stayed at Karmen Apartments inside the old town. The owner and his family live on the upper floors so he is right there to help and to answer questions. It's about a 5-minute walk from Ploce Gate. I don't remember the cost but we really enjoyed our stay here. Very convenient location.

I would not try to get luggage into old town, think of Mount Everest and pulling a wheeled bag up K2. I would take a look at staying just outside of old town and walking in "hands free". Are you saying that your staying there for 15 nights? That is a very long time to be in such a tourist town. Unless you have a good reason to be in Dubrovnik for a couple of weeks, 3 nights is enough. We just stayed at an Airbnb called 2bedroom apartment sea view, hosted by Ana. Totally top notch clean great view wonderful host I would stay there again J

I stayed at the Dubrovnik Garden Apartments in October. Roberto DeLorenzo is the owner and lives on the property. He’s great. bobdel70@yahoo.com

http://www.dubrovnikgardens.com/ Email for Roberto for cost.

Now I will say it’s located up some stairs and Dubrovnik is difficult to lug suitcases thru due to crowds. Weekends the ships come in. It’s great being within the walls. You’ll love it.

We have also stayed at Dubrovnik Gardens. It is in a great location but has many stairs. His apartments have kitchens, no washers, so that might help. We’ve also stayed at Apartment Pavisa which has small kitchen facilities (more stairs, much more stairs) and B+B Andio (off the Main Street, some stairs inside).
It is almost impossible to avoid stairs in Dubrovnik, even just sightseeing around the town. But, staying within the walls is so much better than outside for so many reasons.

Maybe stay a few nights in the old town and then combine with a longer stay somewhere on the coast or one of the islands.
