Seeking A Private Day Trip Driver: Cavtat--Perast--Kotor--Cavtat

We will be in Croatia in late August, 2025, party of two. We will begin our trip with three nights in Cavtat. We would like to go to Montenegro for the day, possibly visiting Perast and Kotor.

Since this will be early in our trip, we would prefer not to be driving around as jet lagged tourists. I thought it would be nice to find a private driver to take us to Montenegro for the day. Can anyone recommend a driver?

Thanks so much.

Petar Vlasic is a fabulous guide/driver. We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Montenegro with him. I suggest you try contacting Petar.
He does book up well in advance, so you may want to contact him ASAP if it looks like his services are of interest to you. https://www.dubrovnikrivieratours.com/

Petar just informed me that he is booked on the date I requested. I wrote back and am waiting to see if he has a friend who can drive us. Further questions:

  1. Does anyone know of another driver that might be available?

  2. What would you guess would be a reasonable price for this day trip?

Thanks again.

I would contact:
Dijana Krkotic Guide & Tour Designer Doclea Travel

[email protected]
www.docleatravel.com

And I would ask her a lot more questions so you get the most out of the visit. In other words I would go for a driver / guide, not just a driver. The best part of the trip you are talking about is in the little stops and the history and the .... Nice thing is that using a guide from Montenegro the prices are going to be very good.

And after talking to Dijana, you might want to spend the night and return in the morning ..... Montenegro is so refreshing after Croatia.

TravelBus79 - Thanks again. I have gotten a quote for 420 Euros, and another for 340 Euros thus far. I think the higher one was going to make some extra stops back in Croatia. So you were correct about the price range. I just put in a request on Daytrip. I have heard others mention that website before. Have you or anyone else gotten drivers that way?

Mr E - Thank you for the referral. I am going to email Dijana now.

Yes, we have used Daytrip several times, always with excellent service. Clean vehicles, on time, door to door pick-up and drop-off. But keep in mind they are drivers. Our Daytrip drivers have always been very personable and have given us tips and suggestions about our destination. But as Mr. E. said, hiring a guide will give you a far different and more detailed experience. We use Daytrip when we need to get from Point A to Point B; and a guide when we want to really learn more about an area, and perhaps see some out of the way & off the beaten path places.

Thanks again, TravelBug79. I wrote to day trips, and I got a quote of 294 euros. However, the quote included only 6.25 hours of driving, and I believe the trip may be more like 9 hours. I am going to write to them for clarification, but you are correct, they may be better for just getting from A to B.
