We will be visiting Croatia in early October. We would like to go to Plitvice National Park.
We’d be driving from Rovinj—any thoughts on how far of a drive that would be?
We do not plan to spend the night at Plitvice, so the late afternoon/early morning plan won’t work. If we arrive in the late afternoon, is that enough time to see some of the park? Where do you recommend we park?

Where do you head next?
We plan to go to Split Lin the evening after visiting Plitvice. At least that is the current plan!
I'd post the entire itinerary and see if something else might work work out--I would not consider it worth it, because that's a three-hour drive from Rovinj, and then 2.5 more hours to Split all in one day.
You might also consider Krka National Park--you'd have a 4+ hour drive from Rovinj, but then you would be only an hour from Split when you were finished there.
Keep reduced daylight hours in mind, but maybe a late-day visit to Krka would be less crowded than a midday visit to Pltivice. Just things to consider!
