Which tour are you on? The Adriatic tour begins in Slovenia--is that what you mean?

Rovinj is nice, and there are other things to see in Istria, but the tour will take you to Rovinj, Pula and the interior. You could hop on a bus to colorful Porec or tiny, hilltop Vrsar--both worth seeing, but I would probably opt to spend the pre-trip time in Zagreb, which the tour omits. It's easy to get from Zagreb to Ljubljana by bus or train.

Another possibility would be Piran in northern (Slovenian) Istria.

I’m actually at a painting course in Rovinj so that is why I asked. It ends 5 days before the tour starts. I know I have to get to Slovakia. Shall I take a train to Zagreb and then on to Slovakia?

Your question seems confusing because there doesn’t seem to be a Croatia Tour (unless I’m missing something). If you mean the Best of the Adriatic, it seems to start in Ljubljana, Slovenia, not Slovakia.

I’m sorry I meant Slovenia . It may have been an autocorrect mistake? I’m definitely on the Best of the Adriatic our starting June 10. I am finishing with my painting class in Rovinj on June 5. I am scheduled to go back to Trieste with the group that day. I could just head to Slovenia. I am thankful for all your help!
