Route for stops

Appreciative of your previous comments to our itinerary, my husband and I will spend two weeks in Croatia in September. I'm working on lodging and wonder if there's one drive route better than the other for any particular reason. Google Maps' drive times seem very similar but perhaps there are other things to consider. We plan to leave in the morning after staying 2-3 nights in each location if that matters for border crossing, etc.
Split - Korcula - Mostar - Kotor - Dubrovnik (passing by and returning to fly out) --or--
Split - Mostar - Korcula - Kotor - Dubrovnik?
Thanks!

I don’t think there is a huge difference, but you could make use of a car ferry to go from Split to Korcula, taking in the sea views among the islands.

@valadelphia
Others have mentioned the “faster” route to Vela Luka but if you factor in crossing the island to stay near Old Town, how is it faster? It doesn’t look faster than the drive and 15 min Orebic ferry according to Google Maps but maybe that’s one of the instances where it wouldn’t be reliable. Or is it that the ferry ride from Split is just more fun and scenic?

I just mentioned it as a change of pace. If I was not planning on stopping, I’d be satisfied walking around a ship on the journey versus a long drive.
Are you planning on staying 2-3 days in Mostar? I might want to get to Korcula earliest if weather will be better.

Soooo, I'm kind of hedging now on how long to stay in Mostar--considering just doing an overnight (rather than 2 nights) so we would just have time for an Old Town walk in the evening or morning before day trippers get there. Perhaps spending the extra night in Korcula or Dubrovnik for day trips. So many options.....lol

I agree you probably would not need as many days for Mostar unless you planned on exploring the area in depth. If the weather is still great, I’d probably add it to Korcula, but I’m a bit of a sea fanatic. If you want to get up into some mountains, I’d add it to Kotor.

You may have just solved my dilemma because we're more mountain people than beach so I think we'll add it to Kotor. Thanks for walking through it with me!
