Road trip: critique the Croatian part !

Hi !
we (2 adults and 2 kids of 7 ans 11 years old) will do a road trip from july 6 to august 4. Our itinerary will be this one :

July 6: Fly from Montreal To Venice
July 7- 12: venice, Osp (Trieste, Pirans, Postjonna caves)
July 12-15 (3 nights): Leave Osp, stop to Motovun in route. appartment in Kanfanar. we will use that base to do trips to Riovinj, Porec and Pula
July 15-16 (1 night): Trip To Cres and Mali Losinj (sleep in Mali Losinj)
July 16-17 (1 nights) : Cres and road to Opatija (sleep in Opatija)
July 17-19 (2 nights): Zagreb
July 19-20(1 night): leave Zagreb to Verazdin and Ptuj (sleep in Ptuj or around )
july 20-25: Slovenia
July 25 to august 3 : verona and Val Gardena
August 3-4 (1 nights) Val gardena to Trevisso (sleep in Trevisso).
August 4 : Trevisso to VCE catch our 13:30 flight back to Montreal

I suggest you include Plitviče Lakes National Park to your itinerary.

Also, Zagreb is nice but is not a must-go city.

About Plitvice, it seems to bebeautiful, but we jave decide to skip it. In summer croeds seems to be insane. also lodging is expensive , the entrance and parking fees are also expensive. Our 7 years old gil doesnT like the walk for long time. If we put all those items in a bag we have a good recipe for a frustrating day !

Zagreb seems to get mixed reviews, we will see but we want to keep it.

OpitajaL why skip it ? We add opitaja just to cut the road lenght to Zagreb. That would alloes us to have almost 2 full days on Cres and mali Losinj, Opitaja is just for sleeping. But maybea we could sleep somewhere else or just skip the island and add those nights in Istria. Does 5 nights would be too much for Istria ?
