Rick's Dubrovnik Guesthouse

Hello. Does anyone know where Rick stayed in Dubrovnik? It was a lovely guesthouse with a charming host. The home had been heavily damaged during the war, but beautifully restored.

Carol is that is his book on Croatia. My husband and I are going in April. We will end up in Dubrovnik and were wanting to stay a couple of nights there as well.

On 12/10/22, Carol (Lynnwood, Washington) said the location of this guesthouse is listed in Rick's guidebook as a “garden” flat.
I purchased the only edition of Rick's Croatia & Slovenia Guidebook currently available (May 2020), but cannot local a listing for a garden flat.
Does anyone know the page where I can find this listing?

I looked around to see if I could find my Dubrovnik "snapshot" guide because that might be where I saw it, but I couldn't find it. The owner also works as a local guide and with Rick Steves Tours. Perhaps you can contact the Rick Steves Tours office and they could give you a contact.

Taking a stab at this--page 333 of the Croatia Slovenia guide, eighth edition. Dubrovnik Gardens, run by Roberto de Lorenzo and his mother Marija Tiberi, who are listed as recommended local guides on page 288. www.dubrovnikgardens.com

We stayed at Dubrovnik Gardens last September, Roberto’s mother was good friends with my husband’s Aunt. Sadly, Roberto’s mother passed away about 2.5 years ago. He rents out 3 apts. we stayed in the very small garden apt. (small kitchenette) And our travel companions stayed in the larger 2 bedroom in the main house (full kitchen). No laundry service. He lives on the property when not at his place in Venice. He is a very good tour guide and an all round interesting person. He speaks English perfectly and was learning Chinese when we last saw him. The location of the apts are great but be prepared for many staircases. The garden apt is at the top of the Jesuit Stairs (staircase of shame for GoT watchers).

I am ready to book this trip, but still trying to determine the name of the guesthouse/Soba where Rick stays in Dubrovnik. It's the one shown in his Dubrovnik video.

After lots of research, I believe it is the Villa Ragusa. Can anyone confirm?

My wife and I stayed at Villa Ragusa last May for two days. The top room with a view was nice but the bathroom had low sloping ceiling so you can not stand up while showering.

Pero was very accommodating during our stay. He still has the casing of the shell that damaged his roof.

Here is the website: https://villaragusadubrovnik.com

Lots of stairs and near the Buza gate.

Many thanks for this information. My husband and I are staying @ Villa Ragusa for 5 days in late September. It's our 1st guesthouse experience. We've always booked hotels in Europe, but we're looking forward to a more intimate experience & getting to know our host and the Old City.
