Just wondering where is best place to rent a car from in Zagreb. Is their a good place on the South of Zagreb so I don't have to drive through the City? I'm thinking also when I get to Split, is the airport the best place for drop off seeing as it's on the West side before entering the City. I'll be travelling from Zagreb 29th. Sept, overnight in Plitvice. Get an early start to see the Park and then set off for Split around 1pm.

I think you need to research who you want to rent from as part of your
answer. Away from the airport, different agencies have different pickup
and dropoff locations. An easy answer is just to rent at and drop off at
the airports, but there is overhead and extra cost as part of doing that.

Are you starting from the Zagreb airport? Nova car gets the best reviews in my research, and we had a good experience with them. To drop off in Split you will pay a one way surcharge, I think it was around 80 euro last year. Driving out of the airport was very easy, it's a very small airport (and I'm assuming the city itself is not terrible to drive out of if you rent in town). We dropped off the car in Split near the port and it was a bit confusing as to where Nova car was and we had to back track and take a guess. If you end up deciding to do that, I am happy to give you pointers so you don't get lost like we did.

Muguet I am picking up in Split and drop off in Zagreb through Nova rental car. What are your pointers for finding them near the port in Split as I am picking up there. Also do you recommend them? I am a little worried that I do not have to pay till pickup but did get the email confirmation that my car is reserved. Any advise about Nova and your experience would be appreciated.
