We will rent a car from city center in Split, include Slovenia, drop off in Zagreb. I've read about a lot of issues of being charged minor dings, etc. so we plan to take a video of the car on pick up and get their full coverage insurance. I don't know which company to choose. I'm thinking Avax and Nova. Anyone else has good success with their rental car company? Please let me know!

There are a lot of thoughts here in multiple posts about this. I'm actually just not booking the opposite itinerary for Sept. I have a Chase card that offers CDW but I'm going to go ahead and get full zero-deductible coverage from the rental agency. Most here will direct you to autoeuro.com. I just found a trip from them with Sixt with a $90 drop fee for ~$445. Booking.com Alamo car is $344 (drop fee included).

I used Active Car Rental at the Split airport last summer, drove through Italy and Slovenia and returned the car at the Zagreb airport. No problems, great car, great service at the airport. I would highly recommend!!
