Rain for the next 10 days?

My husband, youngest child and I are heading to Croatia (Dubrovnik, Split and Korcula) for 7 nights next week. The weather apps are all showing high percentages of rain every single day. I know no one can forsee the future, but trying to figure out how accurate they are. Does it typically rain that much at the end of October? And is it likely to just rain for a bit and then possibly clear up? When I went to Iceland and Scotland I know the weather apps showed rain everyday, but we had plenty of dry and even sunny days. I'm REALLY hoping that's the case for Croatia. We're going to be so bummed if it's rainy and grey everyday.

I suppose this is a bit snarky response. I only worry about the things I can control. The weather is not one of them. I come prepared for rainy weather. The only time I check the weather is when I get up in the morning. Weather is so unpredictable it is not worth worrying about.

Late October and November is, on average, about the rainiest time of year in Split and Dubrovnik. That doesn't mean it rains all day, every day. Downpours are possible, it's true.

In my experience as a user of weather forecasts, predicting precipitation is harder than predicting temperatures, and in locations on the west coast of land masses, it seems the weather is particularly hard to anticipate. The rain clouds my be there but may dump the rain farther inland.

Frank- I wouldn't say I'm "worried". I'm trying to prepare, mostly my 10 year old. This is her birthday trip that we had to reschedule due to COVID. And she's been SO excited about the blue skies and blue water in Croatia. Due to school and us having other children, this is the only time we could reschedule. If it were just my husband and I, we would hole up in a different winery every day! But I'm going to be sad for her if we don't have any nice weather.

We've traveled a fair amount and are always prepared for different weather scenarios. I'm just curious how much it could possibly rain. Are we talking a shower here and there or a constant drizzle? It looks like a lot of Europe is going to be getting rain the next week+

Well the BBC weather forecast is showing sunny days next Monday and Tuesday, then showery thundery weather for the 10 days after that, with a 30% to 40% chance of rain each day.

That sort of forecast suggests it is luck or not if you get any particular shower, but that you should get very nice interludes between them- or you could get bands of showers. But it is not saying solid rain, or anything disruptive, or rainy and grey everyday.

In my rainy trip to Croatia I came home with a cute pair of adult wellies purchased at an outdoor market for 20 euro. Still a favorite souvenir that makes me smile whenever I wear them at home. The only depressing thing about the whether was when everyone would say "oh, you should have been here last week, it was beautiful!"
