Quiet apartment in Dubrovnik for 5 nights

This may be a contradiction in terms but I would like to find a quiet apartment in Dubrovnik. Preferably outside of but near the city walls. I know there are a lot of stairs in Dubrovnik but I like to try to find a place to stay that doesn't exhaust us each time we come home (we will be 75 & 82). Has anyone stayed at karmendu Apartments? Any other apartments to recommend? Which areas outside of the walled city would you recommend?

Yes, we did stay at Karmen Apartments, located just inside the walls and about a 5-minute walk from Ploce Gate. IIRC, there are about 4 or 5 steps to get into the building. But the building is located in a flat area. You do not walk up steep steps to get to the apartment building. We loved our stay there, and it’s in a very convenient location for sightseeing. I had hip replacement surgery about 4 months before our trip, and I didn’t have any problems in Dubrovnik. The apartments are on 2 floors; we were on the second floor. You can ask for an apartment on the first floor.

Thank you so much, kmkwoo. We have just put a deposit down on 1 of the Karmen apartments (apartment 2 on the 2nd floor). They look lovely and Marc, the owner is very responsive. We are very much looking forward to our stay there. So again, many thanks.

I am very happy to hear that you reserved an apartment at Karmen Apartments. We were on the second floor, too. I’ll go to their website later. Maybe we were in the same apartment. Marc is very responsive, and he lives in the building, which is nice, if you have any questions. There is a small restaurant right next to the apartment, and I remember seeing him sitting outside having dinner/drinks. So he is easily accessible.

We made arrangements through Marc to have a driver pick us up at the airport. The fee was very reasonable. Thought I would mention this in case you are interested.

Thanks again, kmkwoo. We will be driving to Dubrovnik from split. Do you have any idea where the closest parking might be near the entrance to old town so that we can park our rental while we bring our bags to the apartment?

Kay, no I don’t know. You should ask Marc. Are you planning on returning your rental car in Dubrovnik? You obviously don’t need a car in Dubrovnik.

Thanks again, kmkwoo. I did ask Mark and, as usual, he was very helpful.
