Question about itinerary

Need some help planning the final leg of our journey. Looking for some advice.

Starting June in Rome - stay for a couple weeks
Next stop is Tuscany Area - staying for a couple weeks
Next stop is Milan - Staying for a week
Next Stop is Kobarid, Slovenia to visit family - staying two weeks
This is where the question comes in. We have an additional two weeks to spend before flying back home from Venice, Italy. Would you travel down through Croatia for a week and then Venice for a week, or just skip Croatia and head to Venice for two weeks? We plan on using a rental car for the entire trip.

Just one opinion, but I'd travel in Croatia. If you have just have one week you might fly south to Dubrovnik or Split and travel around there--then fly back to Venice.

Croatia - no question. You can see a lot in 2 weeks.

You'll see something completely different by adding Croatia in the mix, which I would prefer over a second week in one spot.

Definitely Croatia. You will never regret it. Venice is lovely but very expensive and a week would be a long time to stay there. You will get much more value for your money by going to Croatia and in a week you can see so many different places rather than just one city.

Can't comment on croatia as the alternative as we are heading there for the first time, but I think a week in Venice is already a very long time. 4-5 days is plenty long.
