Pula + hilltowns too much for 1 day?

Hello,

My friend and I (in our mid 40’s) will be staying in Rovinj for 3 nights in July. I would love to visit pula and spend a couple hours exploring. I also really want to visit the hilltowns of Motovun and groznjan. We will have a car. I reached out to RS recommended guide who will meet us in Pula and provide a guided tour for 2 hours and drive to the hilltowns with us as well. Is this too much for a single day? I am thinking having a guide would be a great way to get some insider information on the places we visit and take some of the burden of figuring out parking, etc during the busy summer season. I’d love to hear any input. If anyone has used a guide service of this type, was it worth paying to have the local expertise?

Thank you!

We visited Motovun and Poreć in one day with no trouble. We drove from Rijeka. Pula is great to visit, the colosseum is very impressive. We were disappointed with Motovun, but we went on our own. We might have enjoyed it more with a guide. Be warned, it is very, very hilly and the street is worse than cobblestones, they are very uneven. Wear sturdy shoes.

Imo there isn’t really that much in Pula. I think it will probably be fine
