PSA - Dubrovnik to/from Mostar Delays

Our day trip to Mostar from Dubrovnik was just cancelled, and this info might be helpful for anyone considering the same trip. I wish I had more details about our original route and this new route, and I'll update if I get it. Verbatim from our tour organizer:

Due to a new border regulation from the City of Mostar, the route the tour takes to/from Dubrovnik has to be changed and this is causing an additional 2 hours to be spent on the bus. With the already long transfer time, and based on feedback from Group 1 guests, we do not believe this will provide you with the best experience for a day in Dubrovnik and so this tour has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.

Thanks for the info. We will be going from Split to Mostar to Dubrovnik at the end of June. I'm now wondering if this will impact our Mostar to Dubrovnik drive. Will be waiting for any updates.

Jeanine, are you driving yourself? It is probably different from taking a bus. For example, I was surprised last year that our bus from Slovenia to Italy (both Schengen countries, so no border check at all if you are driving yourself) was stopped at the border by police and our passports all checked - a delay of about 20 minutes (they took our passports off the bus).

I would check on the Trip Advisor Bosnia and Herzegovina forum for more recent info - they are some locals hanging out there who should have updated info.

Andrew, yes we are driving ourselves. Our rental needs to be returned in Dubrovnik before noon on a Sunday. Relieved to hear that this delay might only involve bus transport. However I will continue to investigate. Thanks for the reminder about Trip Advisor.
