Can anyone recommend a place to stay for one night near but not actually at Plitvice Lakes Park? Accommodations at the park seem very expensive for what they are. We will have a car so as long as we can park near an entrance we should be okay staying a little bit away from the park.
We stayed at Golden Lake rooms and really enjoyed it.
Thanks Martine. Do you recall what town Golden Lake Rooms is in or near?
In 2018 we stayed here and really enjoyed it. 1: http://www.plitvickajezera.info/about_eng.html. It was a short 5 minute walk to the park and driveable to some good restaurants. This one for dinner 2: https://www.hotel-degenija.com/cuisine/restaurant-degenija.html. We stopped at this one for a (surprisingly good) late lunch after touring the park.http://www.vila-velebita.com/content.php?tag=home&lang=en
Golden lake room is in the town of Jezerce, about 4min drive to the park
Thanks again Martine! And thank you, Jeanine. We had no idea where to eat! I will look up and save the restaurants!
We stayed at the Plitvice Miric Inn just outside the park. In 2019 the rate was 130 euros and that included one of the best home-made breakfast buffets I've had anywhere. At the time, they were also serving a very delicious dinner for 20 euros per person. It was one of the best meals of our trip. I've heard they may no longer be serving dinner because of staffing shortages. But it's still worthwhile to stay there.

Zrinka House in Grabovac was fabulous! Zrinka and her daughter, Barbara have mastered the art of hospitality. Beautiful rooms, immaculately clean, delicious breakfast, and a yummy snack upon arrival. They send you on your way with a packed lunch. One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at during our travels.
We stayed at the Sedra Holiday Resort in 2022 and loved it. About 10 minute drive north of the park. Nice rooms, good restaurant on site, outdoor pool with cover, reasonably priced. Was in the previous edition of Rick's book but not the 2023 release for some reason. Parking at the park was pretty easy, arriving early helps.
Thanks again, all. We've booked a room at Villa Knezevic in Plitvicka Jezera. Google maps says it is between 8 and a minute 11 minutes drive between the hotel and Plitvice Lakes Park. Has anyone stayed here? Or have advice about where to go for dinner? I think the 2nd question might have been addressed earlier but I've lost track of where everything is located in the area! So I will go back to the earlier replies as well.
