Plitvice Lakes Park accommodations

Can anyone recommend a place to stay for one night near but not actually at Plitvice Lakes Park? Accommodations at the park seem very expensive for what they are. We will have a car so as long as we can park near an entrance we should be okay staying a little bit away from the park.

Thanks Martine. Do you recall what town Golden Lake Rooms is in or near?

Thanks again Martine! And thank you, Jeanine. We had no idea where to eat! I will look up and save the restaurants!

We stayed at the Plitvice Miric Inn just outside the park. In 2019 the rate was 130 euros and that included one of the best home-made breakfast buffets I've had anywhere. At the time, they were also serving a very delicious dinner for 20 euros per person. It was one of the best meals of our trip. I've heard they may no longer be serving dinner because of staffing shortages. But it's still worthwhile to stay there.

We stayed at the Sedra Holiday Resort in 2022 and loved it. About 10 minute drive north of the park. Nice rooms, good restaurant on site, outdoor pool with cover, reasonably priced. Was in the previous edition of Rick's book but not the 2023 release for some reason. Parking at the park was pretty easy, arriving early helps.

Go to booking.com and put in your dates. Then when the results come up go to MAP. You will then be able to see the park and the relative location of accommodations. We stayed at House Anna. It was off season. Owner said in summer season the closest place ot stay might be 20 miles away.
As for food. The small town of Jezerce has a pizza place. It has some of the best pizza you will ever have. We ate there twice. Not all that much else to eat excepting this place and in the park.
Dont know when you are going, but during high season it will be SO crowded. Get there for when the park opens in order to try and avoid this and to even get a parking spot. Pay parking. But not too much.

Thanks again, all. We've booked a room at Villa Knezevic in Plitvicka Jezera. Google maps says it is between 8 and a minute 11 minutes drive between the hotel and Plitvice Lakes Park. Has anyone stayed here? Or have advice about where to go for dinner? I think the 2nd question might have been addressed earlier but I've lost track of where everything is located in the area! So I will go back to the earlier replies as well.
