Everyone says to pre-book admission to Plitvice Lakes. Also I have seen posts that claim that the entrance time can be strictly enforced. When I try to book a time slot, the latest time that can be pre-booked is 15:00. What would happen if I book for 15:00 (the latest time available) but do not arrive until later? I guess I assume this should be ok? We are traveling in May and I have a booked hotel within the park.

In practice, in these late or early hours it did not seem to matter. I don’t think anyone even checked my ticket. In May, and staying on the premises, I can’t see there being any issue. Just pay attention to when the park transport stops running. You don’t want to be stuck away from the hotels.
