To prebook tickets at Plitvece I need to confirm which entrance we will be starting at
Rick recommends Parking at Entrance 2, shuttling to Entrance 1 then starting there and later we will finish back at Entrance 2. His route is streamlined and makes a lot of sense and this is the way we would like to proceed. I am just trying to clarify. Do I purchase the ticket for the Entrance we would like to park at (in this case 2) OR the one we would enter to start hiking in the park (in this case 1)
When I reached out to the park they just kept telling me that they prefer that we park and enter from the same spot and use their recommended circle loops but they are cumbersome and backtrack a lot. I asked twice but they won't answer my specific question. I am hoping someone on this site has followed Rick's plan and can please let me know which entrance you booked your tickets for... the one you parked at or the one you actually entered the park at?

From 2023, I remember them barely looking at my ticket. I used both entrances on separate days. If you have to pick one I’d pick the entrance you’re actually entering to hike at. But I think this is one of those “what are they going to do about it” situations. This is a busy place and they’re just not going to take the time to police this so closely.

We were there last October and planned to enter at Entry 1 as RS recommended, but somehow found ourselves at Entry 2, so we decided to just follow the plan in reverse. This actually worked out better as most everyone was entering at 1, so we walked against the traffic which became very heavy as the morning progressed.
So it really doesn’t matter where you park or which direction you go. There are also shuttle buses and boats that you can hop on and off.
I’m pretty sure that we bought tickets for 1, but it was not a problem entering at 2, and it wasn’t a long way between the entry points.
