Please advise on a hotel in Dubrovnik

Hello

I was wondering if you could recommend a hotel near the city centre and not to far from the beach either. I would prefer a hotel with en-suite bathrooms.

I have never been to Dubrovnik before so I cannot picture how the layout of the city. I have booked a hotel near the old town but don't know it will be easy to access the beach.

Many thanks.

Dubrovnik is a tiny, compact walled city...you won't have any issues with your hotel because they have a very good bus system in case it's a bit far to walk. Have you looked up your hotel location on Google? It's very easy to get walking distance and directions straight from Google Maps. I rented an apartment inside the City Walls but cannot remember the name (it was several years ago). It was nice to be right in the center, but not necessary. There are a lot of hotels in the Lapad neighborhood outside the city walls...do you know what neighborhood your hotel is in? I would look at Google Maps, address, and walking directions (you can locate the beach on the maps - I didn't go to the beach during my stay, it's a bit outside the walled city but probably not more than a 10 minute walk or so).

"access the beach" - now there's a thought. The "beach" that I saw in Dubrovnik is not big, and is off a rock. Perhaps there is a better one in some other location. Cavtat, across the bay, has a nice beach. But that is a boat ride away (1/2 each way).

We have stayed in two different locations in Dubrovnik and loved both. One was a sobe right behind the Hyatt and steps to the Old City. The last time was at Villa Adriatica-the terrace over the port was delightful and you are right by the gate into Old Town. We walked to Banje Beach-steps away-to kayak the coast. We also walked over to St. Jacobs Beach-just a short hike and the beach was empty and lovely.
