I’m visiting Split with my friend in the next month and I was wondering if you had any tips for visitors, places to see and restaurants to visit for example. We’re especially looking for some exciting and underground places that wouldn’t be filled with tourists. If you left your recommendations, I would be thankful!
You might take a look at some ideas from the RS Adriatic Tour, and the RS guide. We took the tour in 2018 and enjoyed our time in Split. We enjoy art and several of us visited the wonderful Ivan Mestrovic Gallery. Large Sculpture collection. One of my favorite blogs highlights Split and other destinations in the Adriatic. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjJz_-buuP4AhWNGjQIHVo4DZUQFnoECAcQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.earthtrekkers.com%2Ftop-10-best-things-to-do-split-croatia%2F&usg=AOvVaw3jrQ7sqz52baUOn_1ZKe55
Edited to add: Favorite restaurant that was near our hotel: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi0393rveP4AhXCBjQIHVESAkkQFnoECBAQAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Frestoran-perivoj.com%2F&usg=AOvVaw3V594dXunv_E_D8dkJUynF
Wait for TravelMom or what ever her new name is. She just spent a lifetime in Croatia (or maybe it was a month?)
We had a private guided tour of Diocletian's Palace with Maya Benzon, recommended by Rick. She was wonderful and made the palace come alive for us.
Don't know if you like museums, but we really enjoyed the Ethnographic Museum in Split, and it was not crowded at all.
