We will be traveling by bus from Plitvice Lakes National Park to Split, as we have booked a cruise tour out of Split but have a day and night in-between before we have to be in Split the night before our boat tour. This will be at the end of June. Are there any suggestions for a place to stop along the bus route that would be an interesting stay overnight ? I am trying to trace the bus route-and I know there are direct and non-direct busses.-Any suggestions ? There seem to be many possibilities...thank you for your help.

I would suggest spending the extra time in Split as it is a fascinating and beautiful place.

Yup. Lots to do in Split, and it's not that far from PL to Split - maybe 3-4 hours, even on a bus.

Much to our surprise we stayed in a great hotel a few kilometers OUTSIDE the park. It was impeccably clean, large very comfortable room. You have an option to have dinner there. We did and it was another surprise as it was really good, chef came out to see if we were satisfied. A very generous and again very good breakfast is included. We would highly recommend The Plitvice Miric Inn.
