We will arrive at Dubrovnick airport on a Sunday evening and will leave for Split early Monday morning.
How far is it from old town Dubrovnik to the bus station? Would we be better off staying close to the bus station?
Recommendations as to places to stay that are clean and safe, but don't need fancy for such a short time.
Sobe or guest houses, hotels fine. Not quite the demographic for hostels. Thanks.

Well, the airport is quite far from the old town, 13 miles or so, and then the bus station another 2 miles. I would just suggest staying near the bus station. The bus station is near the Port, looks like there are plenty of guesthouses nearby, we stayed elsewhere so I can't recommend anything.

There's good local bus service between the old town and the long distance bus station. Unless you have a very early bus to Split, staying in or near the old town won't be a problem.
