Party boat? Or a relaxing peaceful voyage? We would be getting a private cabin. Is one line ( Jadrolinija or Blue Line) preferred over the other?

It will depend a lot on when you are travelling. I have only used that crossing in October, when everything was quiet, in summer I am sure it would be more lively.
As to which ferry to use. Blue Line markets itself as being low cost, but when I last compared it with Jadrolinija there was not a lot to choose. That said we used Blue Line and it was fine.
