My wife and I are looking at booking the Best of the Adriatic Tour for next summer. I am wondering who has visited and what were some of the best out of the way and perhaps hidden gems that would be recommended either before in the Ljubljana area or at the end in the Dubrovnik / Montenegro / Bosnia area. At this point we don't anticipate having a rental car but that can change depending on how easy places are to get to. Ideally looking for places that aren't overrun with tourists and costs would be reasonable if we were to stay for a day or two. We definitely wouldn't be opposed to staying on an island either as we will probably have 2 days before in the Ljubliana area and about 3-4 in the Dubrovnik area where our tour will end. Thanks.
In Ljubljana we especially enjoyed this artist house museum. https://mgml.si/en/plecnik-house/ and this walking tour https://www.ljubljanaguides.com/ljubljana-music-walk
I suspect your Montenegro visit is Kotor. Its okay, buy there is so much more and better.
How about a winery hidden away in an otherwise abandoned 500 year old village tgat clings high up on the sidr of a mountsin? Meet the owners of a olive plantation and try their product? An ancient ghost city? A hill top fortress city, half Venetian, half Muslim. An ancient monastery built into thr sir of a mountain. The deepest canyon in Europe and the magnificient bridge that spans it.

Mr E, thanks. Is this company based in Dubrovnik? Do you know if they will also recommend / include hidden culinary places as well?
The company is located just south of Dubrovnik in Podgorica. Yes on the cullinary. Actually Dijana will set up just about anything you are interested in. The winery and the olive plantation were on my visit about a week ago. Others that I know who have used her have had cooking lessons in a private house. One interesting meal last week was a place that had smoked carp. Carp is usually horrible and the bones are always a problem. Smoking makes the bones soft to eat and the carp was really pretty amazing. You dont find stuff like this without a local.
Thanks Mr. E. I'll have a look at the website and get in touch with her.
