one day in Hvar

How should two people spend about 8 hours in Hvar?

Anything you can add would be helpful—month, ages, etc. Other details about the rest of the trip would be important to weigh too. For example if it was summer and this was my only coastal stop, and I was physically able, I’d probably take a boat trip the Pakleni islands.

My friend and I will be in Hvar September 18. We will ferry over from Split in the morning and will ferry to Korcula in the evening. We will stay on Korcula for two nights and then ferry to Dubrovnik. We enjoy active travel.

Hvar is pretty small, so you could stop at Stari Grad first and then take the bus to Hvar. I have read there is now a bike path from Stari Grad along the coast, so maybe something like that would be fun. You could easily while away a day just wandering Hvar, having a nice lunch, and walking along the coast. For something more adventurous, you could see what’s on offer from a tourist office, like renting a boat or bike or a scenic drive, that kind of thing.

I went to Hvar for one night after Split and then met back up with the RS tour on Korcula Island. I spent the day wandering the lanes of the town doing a lot of photography. Later on a swim, and I finished the day with a very nice dinner with a harbor view. I didn’t go to any of the other towns on the island, but you could combine that with some additional beaches.

The ferries were very easy to reserve tickets.
