We'll be in Croatia for 10 days in July and were able to get direct flights from Philadelphia in and out of Dubrovnik. I'm wondering if it's better to explore our way to Rovinj and then back or concentrate on the southern area and include Montenegro? We enjoy hiking, wine, good food, and quaint towns.
I think from Dubrovnik to Rovinj and back is a tall order. With that amount of time and a round trip ticket, I would stick within a three-four hour radius of Dubrovnik, to include possibly Split and Montenegro.
Yeah, I'd probably stay in the south - unless you can fly home from Venice instead (the AA flight from VCE to PHL is in the afternoon so you could probably just get a morning shuttle from Rovinj to VCE to fly home without stopping in Venice at all.
But, both Montenegro and Croatian Istria (which tiny Rovinj is a part of) are worthy destinations.
Thanks for the tips! Much appreciated.

There are direct flights from Philadelphia to Dubrovnik?
Yes Emily, they started awhile ago, along with flights from Dubrovnik to Athens. Wish they had them from NY. Getting someone to drive us to Philly ain’t gonna happen.
