We are going both to Germany and Croatia. Want to get a sim card for iphone. Has anyone used MTX connect in Europe?
No, but now that the EU has removed roaming charges, you can just buy a SIM card in the first country you visit and use it in the other one. There are some SIMs you can buy ahead of time before you even get to Europe like SIM cards from the UK or the Netherlands that will work, too. I used a Dutch Vodafone SIM a few months ago I bought on eBay, in Slovenia, Italy, and France. (Never even visited the Netherlands.) Worked great for data everywhere. I assume it would have worked great in Croatia and Germany, too.
After reading about Germany's new sim card rules, people say one must register there with a German address and it has turned into a real mess. We are hoping to either get the MTX card or buy a 2 week pre-paid sim in Croatia and hopefully it will just keep working as we cross into Germany.
