Most scenic way to go from Split to Dubrovnik

We will be spending 5 nights in Split and then traveling to Dubrovnik. We are not renting a car, but wondering what mode of transportation is the most scenic. Hire a private driver or by catamaran? TIA

By road is scenic in parts, but of course being on the water for the entirety is more consistently overall scenic. Especially if you are not getting any island time otherwise, I would take the catamaran. I believe Krilo and Jadrolinija still ply this route and you can check for which schedule works best on their websites.
The bus is perfectly serviceable so I would only pay a driver if I had a compelling reason.

The ferry/catamaran is definitely scenic, but it’s a pretty long ride. A lot of people end up choosing a private driver instead, since the road itself is beautiful and you can break up the trip along the way.

For example, look into Ivan Ćosić (he’s on Facebook under Ivan Ćosić, MC Travel Croatia). The drive is easy, the car super comfortable, and he does a stop in Ston to walk around. He can arrange little extras there like an oyster/wine boat stop, which can be a highlight.

Either way works, just depends if you’d rather spend more hours on the water or on the road with a couple of stops.

The catamarans made for one of my best holidays ever from Split to Dubrovnik. It’s really relaxing to transfer on a boat and it’s only one hour from Split to Hvar Town, 90 minutes from Hvar Town to Korcula Town. and two hours from Korcula Town to Dubrovnik.

So relaxing to leave the driving to the ship’s Captain.
