We're looking for an inexpensive way to get from Makarska to Bol. We'll be driving to Makarska from Mostar, dropping our car off and then would like a cheap alternative to get to Bol where we will stay for one night. I understand there are a lot of tourist boats that do day trips - but it's been really hard to find any info about them online. We've looked into the ferry - but don't want the hassle of getting from Sumartin to Bol. We've also looked into the new catamaran - but it leaves quite late in the day and we'd like to spend as much of the day as possible in Bol. Has anyone found an inexpensive way to do this journey?

There isn’t an easy way to get between Makarska and Bol early in the day. The easiest way is to go via Sumartin, but you don’t want that hassle.
The loud party boats such as Makarski Jadran (many are ex- trawlers) from Makarska head to Zlatni Rat beach via Jelsa on Hvar, arriving at Zlatni Rat at lunchtime. Zlatni Rat beach looks great on the photos, but in the summer, you will be lucky to find enough room to lay your towel, as it’s unpleasantly busy. These are party day boats, not ferries and as they include lunch and free booze, they aren’t cheap.
A private transfer would be very expensive.
