We are looking for a place to stay at for the night on our drive from Korcula to the Istrian Peninsula. Other than Split and a short reference to Trogir, RS's book is quiet on places to stay in the Northern/Central Dalmatian Coast. Are there any hotel/sobe recommendations for the Dalmatian Coast north of Split? Thanks!
Outside of high season, I think you could just drive, be flexible, and find something along the way. That's worked fine for me with a car in Slovenia and with bus or ferry in Greece and Turkey. It did not work on Rab island in August. Lonely Planet books sell some PDF chapters for $5/each.
I think Laura's correct, you should be able to find a place along the way when you're ready to stop. You probably won't get this far north but if you do, Villa Vera in Lovran is an excellent place to stay. We were going to stay one night but happily stayed two. We enjoyed some great restaurants in this small city and the beautiful harbor walkway.
Trogir is divine and should not be missed. Better than anything on the Istrian Coast, in my opinion (except maybe Piran). Stay the night there - there are plenty of rooms there, signs are everywhere.
We liked Palaca Stafileo in Trogir.
