I'm looking for suggestions on lodging hopefully within walking distance of one of the park entrances. Either a Sobe or a small inn is fine. I big plus would be breakfast included.
We stayed at a small sobe called Plitvice House Pox but it seems to be 4km from the park. We had a car so it wasn't an issue. There is a bus stop near the park entrance but can't tell you where the stop is in Jezerce where the sobe is located. It was family run and breakfast was included. They also served a delicious dinner at extra charge. We used booking.com and you can review them there. Hope this was of some help.
I stayed at Hotel Plitvice last year on a tour, and really enjoyed my stay there. It was a bit dated but very comfortable and nicely appointed. It had kind of an "old world elegance" from a bygone era, with a wide, red carpeted entrance from the door into the lobby. The restaurant / breakfast room was huge!
We stayed in the park in 2014 in April and enjoyed the restaurant there, not great but adequate. There are no groceries anywhere close, to buy a bottle of wine. We were there in April and I think it rained every day, but it made the falls simply beautiful. We wore our raincoats and walked everywhere. We were on buses and trains the whole time in Croatia not convient, but doable.
