Barbara, there is more than one "Lichtenstein":

• Lichtenstein, Saxony, a town in Saxony, Germany
• Lichtenstein, Baden-Württemberg, a municipality in Baden-Württemberg, Germany
• Lichtenstein Castle (Greifenstein), castle in Hesse, Germany
• Lichtenstein Castle (Lower Franconia), castle in Bavaria, Germany
• Lichtenstein Castle (Württemberg), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany
• Lichtenstein (Osterode am Harz), a hill in Lower Saxony

Unless you mean the Principality of Liechtenstein (different spelling).
However none of the above are in Croatia.

I am only familiar with the principality, and the answer is "not much", no better or worse scenery and sites than the adjoining parts of Austria and Switzerland.
