Krka Day Tour from Split

Is Krka day tour worth the time from Split? Advice to Plitvice Lakes from Split(although more impressive) is not.

What else is on your itinerary? You'll probably start your your Krka tour from the town of Skradin with a boat ride up the river to a huge, beautiful cascading waterfall, Skradinski Buk, that's really impressive and probably the highlight of the park. You can walk up and around the falls and back down the other side. People used to swim below the falls, but apparently that is no longer allowed.

There is more to the park (I didn't see the rest) but it is more spread out than Plitvice. Read about Krka - you can get a nice drone tour of the park on the park's official website - and decide based on that. There are other day trip options from Split e.g. ferry rides to islands like Hvar, Brac, and Vis, but I don't know what else is on your agenda or what your interests are.

Thanks Andrew. After leaving Spmit, we will spend the next 7 days exploring the Dalmatian islands and Dubrovnik. We have visited Split, Troghir years ago, so was looking for something new to do.

Krka is a good option. You could also consider a day trip to Mostar, if that interests you.

I agree that Krka is an enjoyable and interesting (and easy) day trip, although I did it from Zadar instead of from Split. Distance is about the same. I also just went to the main part of the park as Andrew described, so it took about half a day. While not as large as Plitvice, it is still very nice and the boat trip in and out is an additional piece that was beautiful.

Another recommendation in that area that I had but didn’t use was a visit to Bibich Einery.

Krka for a day trip is better than no Krka at all. You will have crowds since day trips usually arrive at the same time. If you can handle that then it should be a go.
The rest of the park is far flung and you need a car. Many small stops for views and a few ruins.
